"Buddah Blessed It" / "Mind Tricks" (Promo) - Supernatural
Label: EastWest, 12" 1995
This is Supernat's 1st record as far as I know, for an LP from EastWest Records(Atlantic) that never came out officially, but leaked around 2000. The single was officially released after this promo, with an additional song, "Flashback".
The A-Side "Buddah Blessed It" is a weed anthem, complete with a Cal Tjader chime sample that is made for maximum maxin' and relaxin'. The beat was done by Dijini Brown (Unspoken Heard), and is classic 90s, good drums, filtered sample, naw mean? Bless the mic with the god!
The B-side was the gem to me, "Mind Tricks". Produced by KRS-One, it had heavy drums and gritty sounds. If you dont know where the hook is taken from, your retarded, stop reading my blog, and go cop "Enta Da Stage". I used this joint on my " Tae Kwon Dolo" mixtape in 1996, the lines you see on the label were my markers for sections I was backspinnin. Rumor had it that Supernat did this song in one take, he just freestyled the verses together. He might have, as theres no real concept, just Supernat rocking about how ill he is.

"I Introduced The Breakbeat To Kool Herc..."
"Bomb M.C." - The Colored Section
Label: 12' RPM, 1997
12" Green Vinyl
A real overlooked record due to how much ill shit was being released in the 97 independent single flood, this is the only joint Ive seen from Colored Section. I used this song on the first of my Troop Movements mixtape series, which dropped in 97. The beat is a rugged drum/piano combo, the hook is a Common Sense vocal triggered in. The concept is the cat spitting is such a bomb mc that he is responisble for all types of hiphop events. For Example:
"Niggas wanna know why Im a Bomb MC/
Cause Im the one who hooked Doug E. Fresh up with Ricky D/
Ladi Dadi, we at a party/
Freestylin, drinking bacardi/
trying to clown/
I told Slick "Write that shit down"/..
If you never heard this, do yahself a favor, check this:

"The Dips" (O.G. Version) - The Wascals
1994, 12"
The Wascals were four cats signed to Delicious Vinyl, and they basically sounded like Pharcyde, Part 2. The MCs were Bucwheed, Spit-Anky, Alphie, and St.Imey, and all had that high pitched voice sound. The record had two version, the OG (which was the B-Side) and the A-side was a J-Sw!ft remix that is real westcoast synthy, and to me, is not as dope as the OG. The OG beat is dope, J-Swi!ft was pretty consistent at that point, too bad Pharcyde didnt get a shot at this beat. Dope Drums, good piano, horns. The lyrics are straight, funny shit, they all basically rock verses about the honeys. I might sound forge chop and screw this track and make the voices a normal fuckin pitch, word.
*In the pic, you can see i colored in the "L" in the WASCALS logo to remind me that copy skipped less and to put it on the left table, the table i scratch with more lol
"The Dips"(OG Version) - The Wascals
Ill include the westcoast remix in the next update.
